Yesterday as I was contemplating the Lord, I felt Him drop Philippians 4:10-13 into my mind. I forgot to look it up when I had a chance yesterday; so, I looked it up this morning.
I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength!”
It really ministered to me as I am realizing that He is all I need! My life is not the sum total of my circumstances, my belongings, my relationships, my kids behaving, etc. I stand complete ONLY in Him!!! So…with that being said, I do not need to approach life from a point of NEED. No, my needs are already met in Him; therefore, I will not be swayed, moved or shaken because of anything going on around me. There is a catch: The only way to walk in this victory is to go to my Father Who provides my needs on a daily basis.
Just as the Israelites had to go out every morning to collect the manna that God provided, we have to go to Him every morning in humble dependence to get our needs met. He is the Great I AM! What is it that you need today? Ask the Only One Who can provide. Know that He hears you. And be encouraged that He will supply all your needs.
PS: On the subject of weight loss, I find it amusing that a part of this Scripture says, “I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry…….!” Could God possibly have a sense of humor?!
